In March when the earthquake hit north Japan and a massive tsunami swept away so many of my countrymen, I almost drowned in overwhelming sorrow. I was in Tokyo when the earthquake struck.

So when Amazon asked me to join their charity project for Japan, I wanted to participate with my song ’Lonely Swan’, because it is my song of prayer. I originally wrote it for my beloved family during a crisis. For me it represented how I felt, how useless I was even though I couldn’t stop caring.

Back in England I wondered about town looking for charity events to join. I was surprised how many of them were taking place. I was moved by all the warm thoughts and offers of support by the people here.  I decided to make a video to go with my song on Amazon ’Lonely Swan’ featuring some of those who sent their goodwill.

I hope this video will encourage you to download the song. The video is home made, I took a camcorder and tripod around town and my husband shot the singing scene near his office.

Although it is now 3 months since the earthquake and tsunami,  people are still suffering and many in Fukushima are still unable to return home. They will need support for sometime to come.
